Make an Impact at Cal Poly

A more sustainable life starts with everyday habits and choosing a reusable period product is an impactful way to cut down on waste. In fact, the average person uses 11,000 disposables in their lifetime. That is why we have joined forces with AllMatters - the sustainability-focused personal care company - to offer free menstrual cups to interested students.

We did the math and guess what? A university the size of Cal Poly uses as much as 2.9 million disposable period products per year. The AllMatters menstrual cup, however, is reusable for years and has minimal impact on the environment.

I've never used a menstrual cup before... How do I clean it? Does it hurt?

Menstrual cups can feel similar to using a tampon. Check out step-by-step instructions here: https://www.allmatters.com/how-to-use  Step 1: Fold and insert: the soft AllMatters cup unfolds to form a light suction seal, keeping it safely in place. Step 2: Wear for up to 12 hours. When placed correctly, you shouldn't feel the cup. Step 3: Empty, rinse, and repeat. Even public toilets are no challenge - just use toilet paper and rinse when you're back home.
