CalFresh is the federally funded Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) that provides money to eligible students on an EBT card (similar to a debit card) that can be used at grocery stores or farmers’ markets to help students in access enough quality food.
We are here to help you!
We are a team of students right here on campus who are ready to help you determine if you can receive this awesome CalFresh benefit! The whole process takes just 10 minutes and, if eligible, the average student receives $150 per month on their CalFresh EBT card! First, we will screen you by asking a few simple questions to see if you are eligible to apply to receive CalFresh benefits. Then we help you fill out an on-line application and answer any questions you may have during this process. We explain the next steps after the on-line application and support you the whole way with emails and texts so your application process is smooth.
The CalFresh Outreach Team at Cal Poly also helps connect you and other students to other food resources on campus. We participate in events around campus and work to normalize the discussion of food insecurity on college campuses and raise awareness of the issue.
